A backup that is not on the same server
Most WordPress backup plugins write their copies to the server the site runs on, or to storage you have to set up and pay for yourself. When that server fails or is compromised, the site and its backups go together.
Locked for 30 days
Every copy is held for 30 days under a retention lock on the storage: it cannot be overwritten or deleted during that time, whether by an attacker, by a mistake, or with our own application's storage credentials.
Off your server
Backups are uploaded directly from your server to Cloudflare R2 storage that we operate. Nothing is left on your web space for an attacker to delete.
Keep your host
It works with the hosting you already have. Connect with SSH access or our free plugin; there is nothing to migrate.
Restore when the site is down
With an SSH connection we restore the backup for you from our side, which still works when WordPress itself will not load.
Download any copy
Every stored backup can be downloaded as an archive, so you are never locked in to restoring through us.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to move my site to Zinn Digital®?
No. Zinn® Backups is for WordPress sites hosted somewhere else. The site stays with its current host and we connect to it over SSH or through our plugin.
How often are backups taken?
Daily. A new backup starts whenever the site's last successful backup is more than a day old. Backups are not real-time.
How long are backups kept, and can they be deleted?
30 days on every tier. Each copy is held under a 30-day retention lock on the storage, so during that time it cannot be overwritten or deleted, even by someone who has broken into your site or your account. Copies are removed after the lock, with a final clean-up by the storage at 37 days.
Is the price per site or per account?
Per site. Each tier covers one site up to 1 GB, 10 GB or 50 GB. Buying a larger tier for the same site replaces the smaller one rather than adding to it.
Can you restore my site if it will not load?
Yes, if the site is connected over SSH: we restore it from our side, which does not need WordPress to be working. A site connected with the plugin can be backed up and downloaded, but not restored by us.
What if my site is already hacked?
Restore a copy from before the compromise if you have one. If not, our malware clean-up service has an engineer remove the malware, repair the damage and harden the site for one fixed price.
