A backup every day, not once a month.

A ManageWP backups alternative
ManageWP's free monthly cloud backup and $2 Premium Backups, against daily off-site backups priced by site size.

The short answer
ManageWP's free backups are monthly, and more frequent backups are a paid add-on inside a site-management dashboard. Zinn® Backups takes a locked off-site copy every day and can restore a broken site from outside.
| Zinn® Backups | ManageWP | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Per site per month, by site size | Free monthly cloud backup; Premium Backups $2 per site a month[1] |
| How often | Daily | Monthly on the free plan[1] |
| Sites covered | One site per tier | Unlimited websites on the free plan[1] |

Why site owners choose Zinn® Backups over ManageWP
Each copy is locked for 30 days, so it cannot be deleted from inside a hacked site.
Restores from our side over SSH, even when the site is down.
Where they are the better choice
ManageWP is a dashboard for looking after many WordPress sites — updates, uptime, security checks and reports — with backups as one add-on. If you manage dozens of client sites and want all of that in one place, it is built for it.
Where Zinn® Backups fits
Zinn® Backups is only about getting your site back: daily copies kept off-site and locked for 30 days, restored from our side over SSH even when WordPress will not load.
How to switch from ManageWP in three steps
Add your site and pick a size
Add the WordPress site where it is hosted now and choose the tier for its size. Nothing about the site has to move.
Connect over SSH, or with our plugin
SSH is best: nothing is installed in WordPress and we can restore the site even if it stops loading. If your host has no SSH, the free Zinn® Connector plugin works instead.
Keep ManageWP until the first copies are in
Leave ManageWP running until your first daily backups have completed and you have downloaded one to check it. Then you can cancel it.
Questions about switching from ManageWP
Can I keep my old ManageWP backups?
Yes — keep them where they are until they are no longer needed. Zinn® Backups starts its own daily copies from the day you connect, each kept for 30 days.
Where are my backups stored?
In our own off-site storage, included in the price. Each copy is locked for 30 days, so it cannot be overwritten or deleted, even by someone who has broken into your site or your account.
Can you restore my site if it will not load?
Yes, when it is connected over SSH: we restore it from our side, which does not need WordPress to be working. A site connected with the plugin can be backed up and downloaded, but not restored by us.
