Why site owners choose Zinn® Backups over BlogVault
Connect over SSH and nothing is installed in WordPress.
An engineer clean-up at one fixed price if the site is already compromised.
Where they are the better choice
BlogVault's plans add malware scanning, staging and higher backup frequencies on its larger tiers, all in one product.
Where Zinn® Backups fits
Zinn® Backups has a lower monthly entry point for small sites, a 50 GB tier for large ones, SSH connection without a plugin, and a fixed-price engineer clean-up when a site is already compromised.
How to switch from BlogVault in three steps
Add your site and pick a size
Add the WordPress site where it is hosted now and choose the tier for its size. Nothing about the site has to move.
Connect over SSH, or with our plugin
SSH is best: nothing is installed in WordPress and we can restore the site even if it stops loading. If your host has no SSH, the free Zinn® Connector plugin works instead.
Keep BlogVault until the first copies are in
Leave BlogVault running until your first daily backups have completed and you have downloaded one to check it. Then you can cancel it.
Questions about switching from BlogVault
Can I keep my old BlogVault backups?
Yes — keep them where they are until they are no longer needed. Zinn® Backups starts its own daily copies from the day you connect, each kept for 30 days.
Where are my backups stored?
In our own off-site storage, included in the price. Each copy is locked for 30 days, so it cannot be overwritten or deleted, even by someone who has broken into your site or your account.
Can you restore my site if it will not load?
Yes, when it is connected over SSH: we restore it from our side, which does not need WordPress to be working. A site connected with the plugin can be backed up and downloaded, but not restored by us.
